The challenge of lighting many spaces under one roof
Bracken Ridge Tavern stands as a northside institution. For nearly 50 years, this landmark has welcomed local families and friends. Second-generation owners Chad and Elisabeth White invested $10 million in transforming the venue. Basically, they wanted to create an all-day dining destination.
The renovation brought together different environments under one roof. Each space needed its own character and atmosphere. Consequently, all areas also needed to feel connected as part of the same welcoming venue. These include:
- Two Wise Guys Italian restaurant
- Panama Jacks steakhouse
- Laneway Cafe
- A modern gaming room
- Outdoor terrace areas
The electrical contractors working on the project contacted Industralight early. They needed a lighting supplier they could rely on to deliver a wide range of solutions. Task lighting needed directional downlights for bathrooms and kitchens. Ambient lighting allowed for strip lighting and garden spikes. General-purpose fixtures like panels are needed to illuminate broadly. Emergency lighting also needed to be installed across the site. Some fixtures required customisation to match specific design requirements.
Traditional off-the-shelf solutions would not work. The team needed LED lighting that could create intimacy in the tavern. Furthermore, it needed to bring comfort to the Italian eatery and family dining areas. Additionally, outdoor terrace spaces required weather-appropriate fixtures.
A collaborative approach delivers tailored solutions across all spaces
Industralight’s team worked closely with the electrical contractors. We began by understanding the specific requirements for each area. And this collaborative process ensured every luminaire would perform its role perfectly.
Across the site, we recommended fixtures that aligned with the new styling developed. And also the specifications required for optimum performance. The emergency series of downlights and exit signs adheres to Australian Standards. Exterior lighting, including landscape spikes and battens, is IP-rated to withstand the elements. Strip lighting uses our advanced LED technology, made to last. And the downlights are configured to use dimming to create a family-friendly mood.
Before manufacturing began, Industralight provided data sheets and engineering data for approval. This step ensured the contractors could verify each luminaire. They needed to meet both technical specifications and aesthetic requirements. Once approved, the team manufactured the fixtures with any necessary customisations.
Products were delivered to the site across several staged shipments. This approach aligned with our manufacturing and their construction timeline. Throughout the process, Industralight maintained close communication.
Our work in the hospitality space is second to none across Australia. Industralight lighting is installed throughout locations such as:

Thoughtful lighting creates warm spaces for families and celebrations
Our products in the first few stages of the lighting fitout proved a success. The fixtures adhered to safety requirements and brought the tavern to life. With carefully chosen lighting, the space now feels welcoming. Families, regulars and new visitors can gather comfortably to game or dine.
The combination of task and ambient lighting maintains an inviting atmosphere. From interior to exterior, the Tavern is altogether lit beautifully. Luminaires highlight the theatre of freshly-made pizza, to the outdoor landscaped garden. Bracken Ridge caters for morning coffees to 50th birthdays. The lighting design supports everything from alfresco breakfasts to moody-lit family celebrations.
Most importantly, the lighting solution delivered on the core promise. Bracken Ridge Tavern now operates as a true all-day destination. Coffee in the morning transitions seamlessly to family lunches and special celebrations. The LED lighting adapts to each moment. It supports the venue’s evolution while honouring its community roots.
For Industralight, this project demonstrates our commitment to collaborative partnerships with electrical contractors. We share our technical expertise throughout the entire process. From initial consult to final installation, we are in constant communication to deliver lighting that lasts.
