Crafted to compete: bespoke lighting for the Parramatta Eels’ world-class facility
Problem:
They didn’t just want visibility, they wanted presence
This facility was built to make an impact for players, fans and the wider Hills community. The project needed a wide range of products. And the specifications were vast, ranging from coloured luminaires to safety exit signs to physio and gym lighting. But it required both off-the-shelf and custom-manufactured options to suit each specific space. And some of the lighting needed to meet strict lighting standards and compliance. The contractor needed a partner who could manage the technical complexity and offer a wide selection.
Lighting performance benchmarks
- 75% less energy: LED sports lighting can cut energy use by up to 75%
- 3000–4000k: The colour temperature for physiotherapy clinics and workspaces
- 160 lux minimum: Uniform, glare-free lighting to be integrated into change rooms
When lighting outdoor sporting zones, there’s more to think about than brightness. Safety and compliance are just as critical.
- Dual use demands: Lighting must suit both day training and night matches
- Light spill limits: AS4282 limits spill light near homes or public areas
- 500 lux needed: Outdoor rugby fields require 300–500 lux for standard play
The Parramatta Eels officially opened the $70m Parramatta Eels Centre of Excellence (COE) and Kellyville Memorial Park Community Centre, the largest rugby league training precinct in the world, marking a transformative milestone for the Club and the broader Western Sydney community.
Solution:
Smart drawings, sharp manufacture, seamless install
Industralight reviewed drawings, manufactured custom fittings and communicated with contractors for best results.
01. A drawing analysis makes sure we get it right on paper first
We worked from detailed shop drawings to map luminaire types, locations and functional zones. From corridors to clubrooms and public spaces, every product had to match photometric and design needs. And every luminaire was chosen to suit its exact position, ensuring confidence in the look, function and lighting levels.
02. Complete lighting supply for every part of the project
Our team revised several luminaire specs, creating custom units in Eels colour tones. We used Flexlite, programmed in the brand colours, for areas like the changing rooms. For other spaces that required more standard lighting, Industralight supplied a full range. From ceiling mounted and pendant, to wall and exterior, every space was covered.
03. Clear communication make for seamless delivery and installation
We worked closely with the contractor to make sure everything arrived on time for a smooth site rollout. Our clear packaging, labelling and reliable logistics make it easy for trades to install the right luminaires quickly. So every detail is planned to save time and avoid mistakes on site.
