Creating a welcoming space for aged care residents
Opal Aged Care opened Bankstown Terrace Care Community in June 2018. This 155-bed building needed different types of fittings. The building required lighting for bathrooms, kitchens, bedrooms and shared spaces. It also had some exterior and landscaping fixtures to provide safe outdoor lighting. The contractors wanted a supplier in Sydney with experience in healthcare lighting. And also one who could provide quality lighting that meet Australian standards.
Working together to deliver the right aged care lighting
Industralight worked with electrical contractors to supply over 1,411 individual fittings. We made custom products to fit each space. For wet areas, like bathrooms and kitchens, we recommended water-proof lighting. Outdoor areas use IP-rated bollards and wall mounted options. There is a mix of pendant lighting through common areas, dining rooms and meeting areas. And the suites have a mix of ceiling and wall-mounted fittings to control lighting levels.
Industralight works on many aged and health care facilities. We support lighting needs across aged care, hospitals and specialist centres. Some projects of note include:

Better lighting for resident wellbeing
The new lighting created a safe, comfortable space that helps residents stay independent. Each area now has LED technology giving enough light for residents and staff. The custom suspended linear systems spread light evenly in common areas. Wet area fittings keep kitchens and bathrooms safe. Outside, bollards create clear, well-lit pathways. Overall, the mix of practical and aesthetic fixtures met Opal’s goal. They wanted a modern, elegant facility that feels like home, not a hospital. By working with Industralight, Opal got top quality lighting backed by real expertise.
