Anglicare’s new apartments needed lighting for social, independent living and care facilities
Kerfoot approached Industralight for the Anglicare Minto Gardens development with a unique challenge. The project needed lighting solutions for 345 apartments across ten buildings. Additionally, within the complex was a 100-bed aged care facility. They wanted to create a vibrant environment where seniors could age comfortably.
The challenge went beyond standard residential lighting. Research shows older adults need much higher light levels. They need 300 lux in living rooms and up to 1000 lux for detailed tasks. So aged care lighting needs careful planning for visibility, safety and comfort. Residents needed good light for daily tasks. But the space also had to feel welcoming and homey.
Working together to deliver tailored luminaires for every space
Our team worked closely with Kerfoot’s electrical contractors to learn about the project. We selected luminaires to match the plans and went through feedback. We also ran detailed lighting simulations across different apartment layouts. This careful approach made sure every home met the required lighting standards.
With our manufacturing arm, mass quantities are custom orders are common. Industralight often supplies complex projects like this one with lighting solutions. We work on social housing at Habilis, to metro living at Oran Park and coastal apartments at Quay. We can handle everything from standard products to bespoke luminaire manufacturing across Australia.
