Building a complete lighting solution for a heritage venue
Adelaide’s Thebarton Theatre redevelopment needed lighting across the whole venue. Contractors needed stairnose lighting in different lengths with drivers and end caps. This would safely light the theatre’s stepped seating. The project also needed downlights for interior areas. The exterior required up-and-down wall luminaires, carpark lighting and festoon strings. Each product had to arrive at different stages of construction. The vision went beyond meeting Australian safety standards. The team wanted theatre lighting that made visitors feel safe and welcome. This needed to work from the car park through to their seats. The goal was to bring new life to this 1928 landmark.
Sensitive approach meets exact safety specifications
We began by selecting luminaires for each area. Our team created 3D models and lighting simulations for the exterior spaces. This let contractors see how the wall lighting and carpark luminaires would look. They could check everything before installation started. The simulations showed how light would guide people from the car park to the entrance. For products where the client had exact requirements, we provided samples. This meant they could check each luminaire would suit. Our Sydney facility stored products and sent them out when the team was ready. This kept everything on track and meant every luminaire arrived to schedule.

Luminaires that work seamlessly with the architectural redesign
The completed installation shows how good lighting enhances a venue. Visitors now enjoy clear, comfortable lighting from when they arrive. The carpark luminaires and wall-mounted lighting help people find their way easily. Inside, the stairnose lighting guides people safely between rows. Each length was custom-cut to fit perfectly. The interior downlights keep foyer spaces bright and welcoming helping crowds move smoothly. Our attention to detail meant every product arrived when promised. This supported the October 2025 reopening resulting in a complete lighting system. This delivers excellent performance that serves Adelaide’s entertainment community well.
