Architectural LED lighting required across this new sports and wellness complex
Sacred Heart College Geelong opened its Sports and Wellness Precinct in March 2026. Built by Hutchinson Builders, the new facility, as part of the Newtown campus, added:
- A multipurpose stadium with two courts with retractable tiered seating.
- The second story has spaces for dance, yoga, meditation and art therapy.
- There are changerooms, bathrooms, a gym, storage and a kitchen too.
The multi-use precinct incorporated a range of rooms with different requirements and environments. Bathrooms, changerooms, and covered exterior spaces required IP-rated fixtures to withstand the elements. While large open courts needed strong lighting to reach the floor level from the high ceiling. Overall, this was a complex new build with highly specified lighting needs.
Lighting simulations illuminate this sports precinct before installation
The lighting team for this project engaged Industralight to provide recommendations. We reviewed the plans, supplied detailed datasheets and produced lighting simulations. The contractors and specifiers could double-check performance before approving the package.
Following this, our production team moved into manufacturing. The VHB Velocity high bays are finished in white to suit the modern indoor sports stadium. Continuous linear systems were manufactured to lengths in recessed and surface-mounted configurations. Round and rectangular LED panel fixtures look streamlined. We also supplied RGBW striplighting cut to length, with rear-cable entry ready to go. Our specialist finished the mini-trim downlights in black powder coat. And others were white to suit different rooms.
Our team built each luminaire to plan, matching the specified finish and colour temperature. We use the same approach across all projects and industries. And maintain high standards to ensure high-quality lighting.

Custom-manufacturing ensures designed environments suitable for students
Students at Sacred Heart now have a modern facility built for health and wellbeing. The students at Sacred Heart can now partake in physical education from yoga to weights. Every space is lit, from courts and movement rooms to bathrooms and storage. The LED technology provides even, consistent light levels reflected in our lighting simulations.
The dual courts host suspended highbays casting light down. Recessed linear continuous systems seamlessly blend into the ceiling. Round panels offer feature lighting and create a faux skylight appearance. Whereas the standard XT panels, used in spaces like the gym, provide general lighting. And downlights throughout the complex ensure safety standards are met. Students and staff can enjoy the space, lit with careful consideration.
