Illuminating new courts with LED lighting
Mercedes College’s new indoor and outdoor multi-sports courts required lighting. The indoor basketball courts needed to meet AS2560 standards. And the outdoor mixed sport court required mounted weather-proof options. Both needed bright lighting to support the teams’ playing. We worked with the electrical engineers and contractors to work out exactly what they needed.
Simulations showed us what would work
We started by looking at the drawings and running light simulations for both courts. This meant we could spot problems before anything was created or installed. The indoor court used custom-made BTU Highbay linear lighting that spanned the court. And the outdoor courts required pole lighting with MFV900 High Mast LED floodlights. Often used in sports stadiums and fields, these would stand up to the heat in Australia.

The same approach would work for:
- Public ovals that host players and teams for competitions
- Outdoor training facilities like tennis and pickleball courts
- Aquatic centres with wet areas and pools for swimmers
Expert manufacturing, quality fittings and superior lighting
The LEDs, both interior and exterior, supports the levels required by AS2560. Teams can play at any time of the day or night. And they use less energy than traditional sports lighting. Whether you need something ready to go or a custom luminaire made exactly how you want it, we can do both.
